Starting from a simple geometrical shape, this truncated conical mirror allows different positions for different kind of functions. Fixing on wall, the mirror is a sort of megaphone that makes the wall scream for reflection. Hence the name EDVARD, after the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, the man behind the painting ‘The Scream’.

This is genius: You simply step into a normal photo booth and rather than printing tiny pictures of you, it will print out tiny 3D figures of yourself. (The photo booth is located in Japan, and is currently running through the middle of January.) Great, please come to Switzerland soon!!!

one of Sweden's most interesting young design groups. Here they have
worked with turned wood, cut into little pieces to add flexibility and
life to this reading light.
Karljohan, a low stool or side table, inspired by a common Swedish mushroom, here made from solid wood (availabe in birch or pine).
Fjällbjörk, in Swedish this is called a kåsa, but I don't think there is an English word for this kind of mug, usually used on nature treks. It comes from the Sami culture, the Scandinavian version of the Native Americans. And since I am part Sami, this piece has a special place in my heart, and I'm real happy to have recieved this as a gift at the press show! Traditionally made from wood, and with plastic versions used in daycare groups all over Sweden, this is an upgrade in fine white porcelain.
This weekend an exhibition called kunst in de market in the Eusebius Church in Arnhem is opening.
The productontwerper Lenneke Wispelwey & Vivian Hoogendoorn (and a lot of other designers) will be there and show workpieces and art. (further informations via Lenneke) Good luck from Switzerland!

The Swiss Designers' Saturday 2008 started today! A lot of great exhibition design, a lot of work and a lot of novelties! Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec spent four years working on a chair whose structure is derived from the growth of plants. The Vegetal Chair, produced by Vitra, presented today at Designers' Saturday Langenthal. Just great! Hochparterre, a Swiss design magazin, support the design exhibition via Hochparterre blog!
