While searching for a new pendant lamp for our dining table I stumbled across this big fat lamp, Under The Bell. Really great, but, what do you think, do we need a loft ceiling height for this lamp? I'm really unsure.... They write: Under the Bell is not just a lmapshade, as it hangs over the table, it creates a room within a room - like a dome encasing a building...

We're working like crazy to finish our rebuilding! So many details to decide, everywhere is a chaos, OMG! But I hope we can hold our deadline: NEW YEAR'S EVE.... And next year we'll still hang around here in Casa Hervé, that's a promise! Yesterday was a good day, I found THE pendant lamp for my Studio space. The Drawing Light is a series of cloud-like lamps, they are drawings in space, emphasizing the volume of light. Absolutely cool! And thanks a lot Sara for the informations!
At the moment I'm planning my office storage furniture.... I've collected a lot of moods and inspiriatons here, but I can't help, I really love both of this shelves systems a lot: The Hay Woody serie and the Lap Shelving from Case furniture. Perfect individual storage systems, but I'm not sure, is it too trendy?

Swiss Designers tend to minimal tradition or 'boxarchitecture', in one word: reduction is all over. Normally I follow this maxim, but.... sometimes I need opulence! In our attic floor we need a main lightening and because of our budget, we are thinking about a DIY version.... Here is an overview of moods and samples with wonderful (DIY)ideas for this space! Today I read an article about the winners of the Swiss Grand Prix Design 2010, Susi & Ueli Berger. It was like a dejavu... While searching for the babyboy roomlight last month, I found this smooth and lovely cloud. It's a concept from 1970, produced by a little swiss factory named wb engros. (And yes, the cloud is installed in his room, I'll show you some pictures soon... ;-))
Our current (relaxed) strategy to finish our house, is finish room by room... ;-) At the moment I'm dreaming of the cosy mood in our mediaroom in the attic floor. A soft, warm and smooth atmosphere with different materials and colors.... I found some really adequate pictures with this mood!

The normal corse of life is running, I'm working on several interesting designprojects, babyboy is on the point of to walk soon, our rebuilding is not fisnished, but now we can do the finishing now slowly with fun!

This weekend we will have a big event in our groundfloor, means we have to move our complet stuff in the first floor... Last weekend we finished all the parts that were possible to finish!! The guestroom, the bath and the spiral staircase is not finished at the moment, but we can live temporary in our new family space. So have a look at the empty rooms....
After a short but wonderful break in Vienna with my little boy and his godmother I'm back in our house. Oh my, so much work is waiting.... Fortunately today the little boy is playing with my husband, so I have a lot of time to organise my work and stuff.

Today I'm working on the chart of color range for my soon to be atelier in the attic floor. The main theme is a picture from the german photographer Billy & Hells.
At the moment I prefer the colors Elephant's Breath and Cornforth white . I hope this weekend I can paint the first walls....!!!

After 2 days of relaxing, my energy pool is a little bit higher... Our tenant came back last week, one day earlier as communicated! Fortunately we had finished his rooms the night before... Now we miss this last day for all the little details, like take perfect pictures for documentation, mount all the wooden kicking plates and so on. So I have only one snapshot from the tenant kitchen with the lightblue Bisazza tiles, I hope to get more pictures soon. In the meantime I'm planning the next five weeks for finishing our part.
This sommer I don't need a special wardrobe, everything I wear is a so-called boyfriend look... ok I'm wearing the old jeans and shirts from V for working.... We did the second sledge hammer part, it looks so big (for us)! And the feeling is really good! Our countdown continues, four weeks till our tenant is back from holidays!

As I wrote yesterday about our 'second' priority, we flirt with a new bed. It's a swiss designer, Scherenbett 990 from Kurt Thut. I'm not sure if it's a internationaly common design. I really love the shape, also the collapsible function. What do you think about?
Our constructions plans are ready, or the most of..., we will start with the big rebuilding in three weeks.... Yeah! And please stay tuned, I'm sure I'll need your comments and ideas!! I'm hardly planning our rebuilding. Space versus budget versus light versus material and so on. I stumbled across this firm in Milan, called ALBED, they produce equipped walls and walk in closets. I really like the system, to change walls in to open rooms! What do you think about?

Finally!! After a long planing and working phase our workshop door is installed!!! We changed the former entrance to the cold storage room into our outdoor workshop. (Yes, when we bought the house, behind this door was the cold storage room of our little village, with 180!! completely rented cold boxes...) Anyway, a year ago, we bought this old french rusty door, fit it into the space in the front and yesterday my oncle installed it!! We are soooo happy!

As I told you, 2010 is a working year! Today I made the definitive measures in the attic floor, good girl! As you can see, there is a lot of work to do.... Next christmas we will sit in the attic floor in front of a cosy fireplace....
