I am still of the opinion that Swiss Interior Designers are often a bit conservative, most of them use 'status symbol' furniture as a save value, no risk with new products or materials. The work of Claudia Silberschmidt, better known as Atelier Zürich, is a big exception. New ideas, fresh and touching elements, a perfect eye for colors... More work pieces on her website here!

Iskos Berlin : Under the Bell

While searching for a new pendant lamp for our dining table I stumbled across this big fat lamp, Under The Bell. Really great, but, what do you think, do we need a loft ceiling height for this lamp? I'm really unsure.... They write: Under the Bell is not just a lmapshade, as it hangs over the table, it creates a room within a room - like a dome encasing a building...

Triplex Lamp : Mackapär

I have to write about an 'old' love.... Since month I'm following the stunning process of the 'redesign' of the wonderful TriplexLamp, made by Ulrika and her husband. Her blog mackapär is supercreative, the pictures and the moods are great! Yesterday I found the latest note from Ulrika: If you are wondering about the status of this friend, I can tell you product launch is coming closer. Only a couple of minor notes to be adjusted before it's approved by the test labs and ready to sell!

Great, we are waiting impatiently... ;-)

Noemie Goudal : largescale

Finally back in Switzerland, (also my soul) and I have settled in well here. The weather is really cold (minus 10degrees) and I (my work output) feel more like a fat grumpy bear in the hibernation. Anyway, today some design treats for you!

The photography of Noemie Goudal is really to dive in! She frequently works with largescale papers and face closely with the existing room or landscape situation. The effect is stunning, the bound of the real and the ficitional perception is unsharp.

NENDO : FLOATING NETTING LAMP

Another new product from fabulous Nendo. They used heat-forming to shape the netting. (The netting is normally used to cover fields of vegetable plants to protect them from birds.) Smart! Next year I need to go to Maison&Object again!!
