Tongue in cheek: asian sugar cube version from Dr. Wow Design Lab.
I met Lily from Les carnets du design in Paris! And yes, she is so likable like her blog is!! Lily's boyfriend opened three years ago his restaurant, Le Louvre Ripaille in Paris, you can read the story on the blog from Design Sponge now!!
Lily, it was so nice to meet you, and perhaps we see us in Milan....
Yesterday Maison & Object 2009 Paris opened the doors. The fair is really interesting, not so stylish like Salone Mobili Milano, they show more decoration stuff. The Newcomerfair in hall 7 is so much fun!
First of all, I met a designer from UK, Lucy Renshaw, she is so nice and funny! She made a large illumindated chandelier from reclaimed objets trouves. Just wonderful!!
This week, Maison & Object 2009 Paris open the doors, I'll be there! I'm hoping to find a lot of new, fantastic and inspiring products from all over the world!
Found this great daybed in a new book, called DESIRE , the shapes of things to come.
Designer Folkform designed this bench with three types of leather. Just great!
So, this is really a great start for this week! Wish you a happy day!
Found this IKEA (new PS serie) preview today on Emmas Blog, so interesting, thanx for sharing Emma!
The IKEA PS 2009 collection will be available in three selected stores in Sweden on February 1, and in all other stores in April. Text excerpt from Emma:
Svarva, by Front,
one of Sweden's most interesting young design groups. Here they have
worked with turned wood, cut into little pieces to add flexibility and
life to this reading light.
Fjällbjörk, in Swedish this is called a kåsa, but I don't think there is an English word for this kind of mug, usually used on nature treks. It comes from the Sami culture, the Scandinavian version of the Native Americans. And since I am part Sami, this piece has a special place in my heart, and I'm real happy to have recieved this as a gift at the press show! Traditionally made from wood, and with plastic versions used in daycare groups all over Sweden, this is an upgrade in fine white porcelain.
